Morphy's Innovator for May

As you all know, from past experience and the logo in my sidebar, I am a Morphy Richards House Proud Innovator, one of a group of 15 Bloggers here in the UK that have the priviledge of testing out a new Morphy Richard's appliance every month. Last month I got to test thewonderful Intellisteam food steamer, which I loved. You can read all about that experience here. I had never had a steamer before and it has become one of my favourite appliances along with their Breadmaker which I also got to review a few months back.

This month I was sent their beautiful Accents Blue Traditional Kettle along with the Accents Blue Polished 4 Slice Toaster. I got to pick the colour. Both appliances come in a variety of colours, but I love blue and so I picked blue. It goes with my kitchen as you can see!

They also come in two shades of red, cream, green, black, polished stainless steel and white stainless steel, so there is pretty much a colour to suit any taste.

I love the shape of this traditional kettle. It's very retro in appearance, which was a real plus with me. I love the handle, which is makes the kettle very easy to carry and to fill. It's also very comfortable to use. I love that it is cordless, the main kettle fitting onto a base which is plugged into the electrics. You can carry the kettle across the room, out to the garden, or wherever you want it really. The lid is nice and tight, and it comes to the boil very quickly. It's also easy to clean and has a great volumne indicator on the side, which I have found very easy to read. Can you tell I just LOVE this kettle??? Good! coz I do, and this nice little appliance gets used about a bazillion times a day!

Here are some product specifications:
  • Water level indicator
  • Safety locking lid
  • 3kw element
  • 1.5 litre capacity
  • 360 degree cordless base
  • Removable limescale filter
  • Concealed element
  • Illuminated on/off control
  • Automatic switch off
  • Fail safe Cut Out
I am really pleased with it and it comes highly recommended by myself! It is available for purchase from the Morphy Richards Site, or other stockists in the UK.

It will probably come as no surprise to you that I have fallen in love with the toaster as well! Of course I adore the colour, and this also comes in all the lovely colours that the kettle comes in. It, too, has a very stylish retro feel and look. I love the graceful curves and the look of the blue and chrome accents together. It comes with a 2 year guarantee, which is pretty good. I love that I can just do one slice if I want to, or two, or three, or even four! Each side also works independantly of the other. It's also easy to clean, with two independant removable crumb trays.

Here are some specifications:

  • Variable browning control
  • Deep vari-width toasting chamber
  • Hi lift facility
  • Removable crumb tray
  • Defrost setting
  • Reheat setting
  • Cancel button
  • Non slip feet
  • Cord storage
  • 1800 Watts
I guess you can tell I am in love, Love, LOVE with my new toaster as well, and it has been working double time this past few weeks, as we are real toast people in this house . . . and bagel people, crumpets, English Muffins, etc. All have come out just the way we like them!

And of course I would not be myself, if I didn't show you a tasty recipe here in which I put these things to use, even if it was only to make the toast beneath my scrambled eggs, and the hot cuppa to go along with them!

My Todd said to me, as I served this up today, that he really loves simple suppers most of all. I had to agree . . . but then again, I do also love complicated ones. I just love food, full stop.

Anyways, the Toddster is not hard to please. He is happy with anything that comes on toast . . . beans, spaghetti (that is a wierd one because he hates normal spaghetti, but loves tinned spaghetti. I KNOW!! Who can figure out the mind of a man??). His absolute favourite though is scrambled eggs on toast.

He does make some pretty good scrambled eggs on toast himself too. When I was cooking at the Manor, he would sometimes make me some for my supper when I got home at the end of a tiring day. They always tasted really good too.

Today I did something just a tad bit different with my eggs though. I used my normal recipe, which you can find HERE, but this time I folded in a few chopped spring onions and some Gloucester Cheese, cut into small cubes. Oh my, scrummy . . . yummy, especially on some nicely butter fresh toast that I had expertly toasted in my new toaster! Thank you to Chris and especially to Morphy Richards for, once again, making my month and letting me test these great goodies!

PS - I am pleased to be able to add that if you would like to buy a Blue Accents Kettle and Toaster together, Morphy Richards have given me a Voucher Code that you can use to get 50% off the order.
